바이오메디컬소프트웨어학과

김효정 교수는 헬스케어 빅데이터 연계와 순환, 데이터 과학에 대한 전문성을 기반으로 정밀의료, 실사용 근거 창출(RWE), 사회적 건강 결정 요인 연구(SDoH)를 수행하는 정보학자이다. 임상정보시스템(EHR/CDW)부터 디지털 헬스케어, ML/LLM 데이터 모델링 및 엔지니어링까지 포괄적인 범위의 연구를 이어가고 있다. 서울대학교에서 정밀의료를 위한 임상 유전체 데이터 모델 연구로 의료정보학 박사 학위를 받았으며, 임상의사결정지원시스템(CDSS), EHR 시스템 설계, 데이터 관리(Data Management & Governance), AI 기반 의료 데이터 활용 및 지식 창출 등 다양한 분야에서 풍부한 경험을 쌓아왔다. 이전에는 성균관대학교 및 삼성서울병원에서 연구 교수, 카카오헬스케어에서 ML/LLM 데이터 엔지니어로 근무하며, 하버드대학교, 신시내티대학교, 구글 등과의 국제 공동 프로젝트를 포함한 다수의 국가·기업·병원 간 다학제 연구 프로젝트를 수행했다. 현재는 질병관리청 국립보건연구원 데이터 공개·활용위원회 위원으로 활동하며, 바이오 빅데이터 플랫폼 구축 및 활용분야에도 기여하고 있다.

Hyo Jung Kim, Ph.D., MSc is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Software Engineering at The Catholic University of Korea. With over 15 years of experience as a clinical informaticist, Dr. Kim has expertise spanning clinical practice, EHR software architecture, and academic research. Her work focuses on integrative approaches to enhancing the continuity and quality of care through digital healthcare innovations. She has demonstrated excellence in workflow analysis, IT-driven process innovation, and managing large-scale hospital information system data.
Dr. Kim’s research bridges data science and implementation science, particularly in integrating genomic research into clinical practice and developing meaningful representations of real-world healthcare data. Her expertise includes healthcare big data management, clinical decision support system (CDSS) development, and analyzing the cancer care continuum—from therapeutic effectiveness to social determinants of health. She has been actively involved in national and international research collaborations with major hospitals in South Korea. Additionally, she serves as a Member of the 2nd Data Utilization Committee for the Clinical & Omics Data for the CODA, KNIH.
